This past year I was given the task of developing a science curriculum map for the 4th through 6th grade classroom, followed by a school wide curriculum. Within this curriculum map includes key questionst to be answered by each unit and key nomenclature the students must learn before moving on. As I have gone about creating this curriculum map, I have also used my Graphic Design background to make hand outs, matching cards and interactive flash programs for the students to use to aid in their studies. I have also started to look into different technologies that can be included as aids for each unit.

In addition to developing the science curriculum map, for the last 5 years I have been working as a lead teacher of a 4th through 6th grade classroom at Mission Montessori Academy. As the lead teacher, I am responsible for teaching lessons in the fields of science, math language arts and geometry. The lessons that I teach include verbal instructions as well as a sensorial experience for the students. I also work alongside my co-teacher and assistants in daily classroom operation and management.

In 2008 I worked as an assistant teacher at Mission Montessori Academy. As the assistant teacher, my responsibilities were to help the students with any questions they might have, prepare lessons for the lead teacher, and supervise the students in their academic activities. Additionally, at Mission Montessori Academy, I was in charge of the Children's Technology Workshop program. In this program, I worked with 1st thru 6th graders on various technologies based skills including computer programming, graphic arts and physics.
